Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco categorizes her music as folk-rock or alternative. But it has influences from punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first musician to start her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met in their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Both her parents were both born in Montreal.
