Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam with Chinese ancestry while Winston Barrett Munn's family has roots that go back to the American South. Olivia's parents separated at the age of two. Her family consisted of her mother who was with the United States Air Force, and her stepfather. While the family lived throughout the world, her principal residence was Tokyo, Japan. During that time she was involved in many shows in the area and went on to become an Japanese fashion model. After the family returned home to United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her aspirations of becoming a professional actress. Her acting journey began by playing a minor part. Then, her career began to take off after she was cast in the role of Mily Acuna in Hawaii's lensed TV show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007, she played Rob Schneider's Receptionist. She hosts the podcasts "Formula D", "The Daily Nut" along with "The Daily Nut". It is her favorite pastime as she has practiced it since the TV series Beyond the Break (2006). Her black belt is in Taekwondo. Her mother remarried when she was just two years old to an Air Force official. She was raised primarily in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather was a member. It was the University of Oklahoma is where she studied journalism with minors in Japanese as well as drama and dramatic arts.
